[ It's completely inadequate, really, but he doesn't know what else to say. ]

I didn't want you to see that.

I didn't want you to see me sick either. I guess we're almost even.

[ There's a brief pause, and then he laughs, quietly. Humorlessly. ]

We are a pair, aren't we?

[ So stubborn. ]

Are you feeling better?

[shockshot]

We really are.

And I'm feeling better. I really just needed to rest, and I hadn't been giving myself the chance.

[She laughs quietly.]

But that's...that's something else. And you don't owe me any apologies. I was worried, and I'm sorry if I made you feel worse.

[ Masaki, stop being like him; it's not good for you. :c ]

I'm glad you're better.

[ He really is. He only wishes he could have done something for her. ]

You didn't. [ Make him feel worse, that is. His voice gets quieter. ] I needed the help.

[She's going to try and be better. She's trying.]

I'm glad you're better too.

[She wishes she could do more for him. But she can't bring back the dead. No one can. Not really.]

Yeah. You did. [No ones denying that.] I'm glad Susan was there for you too.

...you know, more than ever...I kind of wish I could move in with you.

[ Well...they can both try. Bearing burdens along is never any good. ]

I am, too. [ As for Susan- ] She's been kind to both of us since we met.

[ Himself and Sephiroth, that is. ]

...I'd like that. [ His throat closes a little, but he doesn't cry. He's done with that and won't start again. ] I'd like it a lot.

[Very true. And they do have each other to help ease the burden.]

Mm. She seems like a very kind young woman.

[She considers quietly for a few moments. Then: ]

I can stay over for a few days. Sephiroth did invite me to come over...a little while ago.

[It's not what they want, but it'll have to do. And it'll help him get steady and give her a chance to be pampered for a little while.]

She is.

[ Like you, he wants to say. He just knows she won't have it.

He's quiet over that suggestion, but in reality, something tightens in his chest when she says it. He didn't realize how much he really does want her company until she made it sound so doable. ]

I'd like that.

[ A beat, then- ]

I think he'd like it, too.

[ Sephiroth hasn't said as much, but Zack knows he's taking all of this rather hard. ]

[She'd just refuse with a gentle laugh. Modesty or not actually believing him, it's hard to say. But...

She's glad that he wants this at least. She laughs a little. Sometimes, it's easy to give oneself what they want. If only for a little while.]

Good. Maybe...maybe we can make pancakes together or something. Just-let's have some fun while we can, all three of us.
